A Short Guide to Understanding America Today

Convincing others that the obvious is true is hard work!

A quick thought to share:

Years ago, while working on my Ph.D. thesis, I devised what I considered to be the optimal time allocation for research. I’ve since discovered that it’s true almost everywhere.

Spend 49% of your time framing the right question;

Spend 2% of your time finding answers, because the right answers are always obvious;

Spend 49% of your time convincing the people around you that the obvious answers are correct.

In retrospect, I may have given people far too much credit. Convincing the public that the right answers are obvious may require far more than 49% time.

If you want to understand what’s happening in America today, we’re living through that third part.

Just a thought. Sorry I’ve been scarce. I hope to pick up the pace soon.
