If there were a sizable bloc of moderate centrists cutting across both parties, they would seize this moment to redefine American politics. They won't. Because no such faction exists.
Makes sense. Dems control the major institutions of culture (education, Hollywood, big tech, media, etc.) and therefore feel zero need to give an inch to the other side.
What is most curious to me is that none of the Ds have seized this opportunity. Jeffries as far as we know is making no progress towards obtaining RINOs to push him over the top, and no Ds are considered potential allies to push McCrapthy over the top.
They are all utterly beholden to the Machine Politics that elected them. As much as I hate the lack of unity that prevents them from accomplishing what we send them to do, it is surely better than this windup soldier mentality on the Left. Surely you would think some left block, knowing a Republican will be elected would push a Swamp creature like Mccarthy over in exchange for him throwing them a bone. But nothing, the sound of crickets is speaking volumes to me.
